Dr. Gias Khan had more than 25 years of experience in natural resources research, management and development with particular reference to climate resilient and sustainable development of fisheries and livelihoods particularly for the distressed and disadvantaged group of people. He contributed review and development of policies and strategies in the NRM sectors aiming at longer term development vis-a-vis the conservation of the natural resources to support future food security through transforming the field research info into pragmatic action plans that enhances ecosystem services, introduce ecosystem approach to fisheries and other aquatic natural resources in persuasion with the code of conduct for responsible use of natural resources; in line with FAO-UN code of conduct for responsible fishers.
He authored more than 100 scientific/ technical papers/ reports, and was affiliated with numerous national and international organizations.
